LAHORE: The traditional colourful festival 'Holi' was celebrated with zeal and fervour by Hindu community at Krishna Mandar, Ravi Road on Thursday.
The festival was organized by Evacuee Trust Property Board,a large number of people including women and children belonging to Hindu community participated in the ceremony. They also sang bhajan and performed their religious rituals on the occasion.
Leaders of Ittehad Banul Muslimeen also particiapted in the ceremony.
ETPB, Chairman, Syed Asif Hashmi in his message said PPP government under the leadership of President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani gave representation to minorities at every level besides the Parliament.
Chairman, Hindu Welfare Council, Dr Manuhar Chand thanked Syed Asif Hashmi for providing funds and making arrangements for their ceremonies. He said they were proud of being Pakistani national. Special gifts were distributed and special prayers were also offered for the peace, progress, development and stability of Pakistan on the occasion.
