ISLAMABAD: NAB witness and Ministry of Water and Power section officer Wednesday shared with accountability court the details of six summaries put up regarding Nandipur Power Project during PPP's government.

After the defense concluded cross-examining with NAB witness Muhammad Naeem, the court summoned other witnesses in the case on April 12. Accountability Court Judge Arshad Malik conducted hearing on a NAB reference regarding the delay in execution of Nandipur Powere Project.

During cross-examining, Muhammad Naeem informed the court that Baber Awan had been as law minister for a period of one year and four months. During this time, he said, he had not put up any summary sent to the law ministry regarding the project. He, however, said the first summary regarding project was sent by the ministry of water and power in December 2007 while the second was sent in July 2009 and third in 2011.

He said the fourth summary was sent in May 2011 which followed as well in July and August of the same year. He said the two summaries were sent to prime minister, three to economic coordination committee and one was sent to Cabinet Division. After that, the court adjourned hearing of the case till April 12. It may be mentioned here that NAB had nominated former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, former law minister Dr Baber Awan and other accused in the reference.

Former federal ministers including Khawaja Asif and Syed Naveed Qamar were also listed in prosecution witnesses against the accused.
