MULTAN: Excise and Taxation department Multan would start survey from July this year to register new commercial, domestic and other properties to bring them in tax net.
Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) property taxes wing Khalid Hussain Kasuri told APP that survey was being conducted following the directions of excise department Punjab for maximum tax collection in country's interest.
He said excise inspectors, constables and other staff of the department would conduct door-to-door survey to add newly built properties.
He further said that there were over 100,000 property tax payers registered with the excise department across the Multan district.
He informed that they had recovered Rs 420 million property tax so far against Rs 660 million set targets for current financial year 2018-19 across the district.
He added that they had issued arrest warrants to 56 chronic excise defaulters as Rs 5.8 million dues were pending on them.
The ETO said that warning and property seal notices were also served to excise defaulters.
He said March 31 was deadline fixed for the deposit of dues adding that they were given Rs 100 million recovery targets for the month of March.
