RAWALPINDI: Taking notice of absence of basic health facilities at Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Taxila , Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ghulam Sarwar Khan has sought detailed report of missing facilities from District Health Authority (DHA). Director finance and administration District Health Authority Dr. Ali Ehsan while talking to APP on Thursday said that the Minister during his visit to THQ hospital Taxila and Wah general hospital took notice of the shortage of beds and other missing facilities including absence of the blood bank, anesthesia machine and out of order dental unit.
The Director said that presently the Taxila hospital had had the capacity of 40 beds which was insufficient to deal with a number of patients visiting the hospital as the population size had witnessed an immense increase during the last years,adding taking notice of the issue, the Minister directed us to prepare a report for the increase of beds up to 100 in the hospital.
Dr Ehsan informed that the Minister had also directed to increase the number of beds up to 180 in Wah hospital which presently had 100 beds.
He said that a detailed report of up gradation of the hospitals were being prepared and would be forwarded to Minister of Petroleum who would meet the Chief Minister for provision of funds at the earliest.
