ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser Tuesday said the government would soon bring inflation under control and overcome the economic challenges facing the country.
Speaking at a cheque distribution ceremony among deserving persons at a poverty alleviation programme in Topi, district Swabi, he said agriculture sector would be promoted to improve the livelihoods of farmers and the government would announce a big package for the agriculture sector in the next budget.
Special Economic Zone of Rashakai under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would prove to be a milestone for the economic progress of the country, he added. Asad said the government was also bringing a comprehensive programme for creating job opportunities for the youth.
He further said a committee had been formed and a plan had been prepared to resolve problems of the affectees of Ghazi Barotha dam. He said model welfare towns would be established in different areas of Pakistan. “Our aim is to turn Pakistan into a prosperous welfare state. Every household would be provided with gas and electricity.”
Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund was working to eradicate poverty from the country, the speaker said adding interest free loans to the people would help in improving their economic conditions. He said prestige of Pakistan was elevated due to the successful foreign policy of the government.
