Mepco imposes Rs2m fine on 80 power pilferers

MULTAN: A task force of Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) has imposed over Rs. 2 million on 80 power pilferers during a crackdown across 13 districts of the region, here on Saturday.

According to Mepco official sources, in line with special directions of Chief Executive Officer Mepco Engineer Tahir Mahmood, the task force, along with the district administration and police, conducted raids, caught 80 power pilferers and imposed fine on them.

The Mepco also got registered FIRs against 22 power pilferers with the police stations concerned, sources added.
