KARACHI: Five ships MSC Maria Elena, Maersk Columbus. Hong Yuang, Sino Energy and AI-Marwab carrying Containers, Soya bean seeds, Palm Oil and LNG were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, six more ships Mol Gateway, Genca Aquitaine, STH London, Ariadne, Kastro and BW Panthar scheduled to load/offload containers, Talcum Powder, Coal end Diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
A total of eleven ships occupied berths at PQA to load/offload Containers, Steel product, Coal, Bitumen, LPG, LNG and Palm respectively. Out of them, two ships general cargo carrier 'Athos' and gas carrier 'Golar Snow' sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, and three more ships, Al-Jobor, Tai Health and Mol Gateway are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 162,010 tonnes, comprising 150,443 tonnes imports cargo and 11,567 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,038 Containers (TEUs), (3,459 TEUs imports and 579 TEUs exports).
Three ships Mol Gateway, Sovereign and Bulk Pegasus carrying containers, Diesel oil and Coal are expected to take berths at QICT, FOTCO and PIBT respectively Wednesday, while two more ships, Teno and Hansa America with containers are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday.
