Crackdown against power theft bears fruit, Rs42bn pilferage controlled: Fawad      

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Monday said that big crackdown against power theft has started bearing fruit and so far leakage worth Rs 42 billion has been controlled.

Using his twitter handle, the minister said about 20,000 FIRs were registered in crackdown against power pilferers and about 2,000 persons involved in theft were arrested. He disclosed that about 500 employees of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) were found involved in the theft.
