KARACHI: Three ships, ER Tokyo, Maersk Hartford and London carrying containers and 19,160 tonnes Phosphoric Acid took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak terminal respectively on Tuesday.
A total of eight ships were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload containers, rice,coal, Phosphoric acid and palm oil respectively. Out of them Edible oil carrier Ginga Hawk sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, and chemical carrier London is expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 151,705 tonnes, comprising 136,705 tonnes imports cargo and 15,000 tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,814 containers (TEUs), (3,294 TEUs imports and 520 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.
Four ships, MOL Globe, Big Apple, NCC Sofa and Pike carrying containers, Phosphoric Acid, palm oil and Mogas are expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL, MW-Land FOTCO respectively, on Wednesday.
While two more container vessels MOL Courage and Maersk Saline are due to arrive at port Qasim on Thursday.
