No FBR raids till March 31, says LCCI

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has promised that no raids would be conducted on business houses in Lahore till March 31.
According to Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) spokesman here Saturday, the assurance was given to the LCCI after thorough discussions with the FBR authorities during the last two days.
The fact was also endorsed by the Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar, while talking to LCCI President Almas Hyder.
The minister also informed the LCCI president that the directions had been issued to the FBR, he added.
All members and businessmen of Lahore are urged to clear the taxes and dues in next 15 days to avoid any action by the FBR, he said and asserted that it was also urged that all non-filers use this time to become filers so that they did not face any difficulty in future.
Meanwhile, all trade and industrial associations have congratulated the LCCI for this great achievement and said that Lahore Chamber presented business community's case to the government in a better manner and acted as a bridge in true sense of the word.
