ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said the continuity of democratic process was critical to political stability in the country.
"It would lead the nation towards trajectory of peace, progress and prosperity. There is no alternative to democracy," the Prime Minister said in a meeting with Dr Arbab Alamgir, Minister for Communications and Mrs. Asma Arbab Alamgir, MNA, at the Prime Minister House.
The Minister and MNA congratulated Prime Minister Gilani on the impressive victory of his son Syed Musa Gilani in the by-elections held on February 25.
Gilani thanked both the parliamentarians and said the by- elections were a manifestation of people's complete trust in democratic process as the turn out was beyond expectations.
