Apple believes more climate change disasters beneficial for iPhone
Where climate change is something to be feared about, Apple on the other hand thinks that more climate change disasters can be beneficial for iPhones.
In the latest report by the environmental nonprofit Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), over 7,000 firms were asked to share the risks and opportunities that come along with climate change. Many of them, including Apple, answered that climate apocalypse would bring more money in a world ravaged by drought and storms, reported Bloomberg.
Apple mentioned that ‘as people begin to experience severe weather events with greater frequency, we expect an increasing need for confidence and preparedness in the arena of personal safety and the well-being of loved ones’.
Apple blames China, battery replacement offer for weak iPhone demand
The smartphone maker believed that climate related disasters can increase people’s dependence on iPhones. It further added that its iPhones can hence ‘serve as a flashlight or a siren; they can provide first aid instructions; they can act as a radio; and they can be charged for many days via car batteries or even hand cranks’, as per Mashable.
Moreover, Google too acknowledged that it will too benefit after a climatic apocalypse. Google wrote, “If customers value Google Earth Engine as a tool to examine the physical changes to the Earth’s natural resources and climate, this could result in increased customer loyalty or brand value. This opportunity driver could have a positive impact on our brands,” quoted Bloomberg.
