NAB starts probes into missing containers from NLC

KARACHI: National Accoun-tability Bureau (NAB), Sindh has started inquiries to dig out facts relating to missing containers from NLC.

Different clearing agents, importers, customs officials and others are now under investigations on the basis of complaints received from FBR on the allegations 28,802 missing containers, which were cleared against Afghan Transit Trade and ISAF, but allegedly did not cross the border. A team of NAB officers headed by Major Shabbir Ahmed (retd), NAB Director General, Sindh visited the office of NLC here on February 16 and held meeting with Commander NLC and discussed various aspects of the case pertaining to transportation of transit cargo carried out by NLC and its registered contractors.
