Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has finalised its list of candidates who will be contesting in the upcoming general elections, according to an announcement of the party, here on Friday. MQM-P has fielded electoral contestants for thirty seats of National Assembly and 61 seats of provincial assembly Sindh. It said the contenders for two provincial seats of Lyari in Karachi would be announced later; however, it has not fielded any candidate in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces and federal capital Islamabad.
According to the MQM's announcement, Ali Raza Abidi will face off Imran Khan in the NA-243 constituency, Mahfooz Yar Khan will contest against Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in NA-246 and Usama Qadri will compete with Mustafa Kamal in NA-253 in Karachi.
On the other hand, MQM's Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui will be contesting for the NA-255 constituency whereas Dr Farooq Sattar will be contesting for NA-245 and NA-247 in Karachi.
Rauf Siddiqui is MQM's contender against PPP's Asif Ali Zardari in NA-213 (Nawabshah). The party fielded two women candidates on general seats in Karachi: Kishwar Zehra for NA-242 and Afshan Imran for NA-248.
