Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country and temperature will further increase in plain areas in the next few days. According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, dust-storm/ gusty winds with light rain-thunderstorm may occur at a few places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi Divisions, Islamabad, upper Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Met Office had earlier also forecast that months of May and June will be the hottest and driest this year. Director General PMD Dr Ghulam Rasool said that temperature will further increase in plain areas of the country, especially in Sindh and Punjab. He said that isolated rain is expected in upper parts of the country including twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Maximum temperature recorded on Saturday was: Dadu 47°C, Bahawalnagar 46°C, Badin 45°C, Chor 45°C, Bhakkar 43°C, DI Khan 42°C, DG Khan 41°C, and Islamabad 40°C.
