PRA to collect Rs 100 billion during fiscal year 2018: chairman

Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Chairman Dr Raheel Siddiqui said on Saturday that the number of taxpayers under the PRA has reached 50,000 that would increase to 100,000 by 2020. He was briefing media on performance of PRA. He said this number is likely to reach 200,000 by 2025. Similarly, he said, the revenue collection has reached Rs 86.5 billion in first 10 months of current fiscal that was Rs 43 billion three years before.
He expressed the hope that the PRA would be able to collect Rs 100 billion by the end of current fiscal. Answering to a query, he expressed his desire to mark 10th of April as tax day in the country.
