The senators on Wednesday unanimously elected the chairmen of three standing committees including Senate Standing Committees on Housing and Works, Privatization, and Government Assurances. The elections were conducted according to Rule 184(1) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 2012. Senator Mir Kabeer Ahmed Muhammad Shahi was elected as chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Housing and Works, Senator Mir Muhammad Yousaf Badini as the chairman Standing Committee on Privatization and Senator Muhammad Tahir Bizenjo as chairman Senate Standing Committee on Government Assurances.
After the conclusion of the Senate standing committees elections, Leader of the House in the Senate Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq greeted the newly elected chairpersons of the committees and hoped that respective committees under their leadership would play vibrant and effective role for promotion of transparency and good governance.
