Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Ali Jehangir Siddiqui, Special Assistant to Prime Minister, met with an Exxon Mobil Corporation delegation represented by Emma Cochrane, Chairwoman, Exxon Mobil LNG Market Development and Irtiza Sayyed, Vice President, Exxon Mobil Qatar in London on April 28th. Ms Cochrane reaffirmed the importance of Pakistan to Exxon Mobil, and expressed the strong interest Exxon Mobil has in further developing the countries Energy sector, cooperation in multiple areas was discussed. Exxon Mobil briefed Prime Minister Abbasi on the finalization of a Heads of Agreement with Energas, Sponsored by Yonus Brothers Group, Sapphire and Mian Karim (sponsor of Halmore Power Generation Company), to develop the countries first Private sector FSRU based LNG import terminal in Port Qasim, Karachi, to supply LNG to Private buyers in Pakistan. Prime Minister Abbasi thanked Exxon Mobil for its strong interest in Pakistan and welcomed it to participate in the Energy sector, and reaffirmed the Government's support in enabling Exxon Mobil's re-entry into Pakistan after being away for nearly three decades. Ms Cochrane thanked PM Abbasi for his personal leadership and that of his Governments in enabling such investment.
