The militancy affected traders from North Waziristan Agency have threatened that they would hold a long march to Islamabad and stage 'sit-in' for indefinite period in the federal capital if the government didn't announce compensation package within next three to four days. Speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, Traders Association of North Waziristan Agency (NWA), Mirali Bazaar president, Zareenullah said that the traders were inflicted billions of rupees financial and business losses due to the prolonged security forces operation against militants in the tribal agency.
President of Miramshah Bazaar, Deen Pawak Khan, Vice President Mir Ali Bazaar, Mohammad Saeed, Chairman Markaz-e-Tanzeem Tajaraan Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shuakat Ali Khan, trader leader Sharafat Ali Mubarak, Markaz-e-Tanzeem Tajraan Rabita Committee Peshawar Cantt president Mujeebur Rehman, Mohammad Shafiq, Imshadullah, Noor Afzal and others affected traders were present during the press conference.
Zareenullah said that a total of 20,000 shops in main three main bazaars, Miramshah, Mir Ali and Datakhel of the agency were completely destroyed in North Waziristan Agency. He added that traders suffered business losses of Rs 5 million to Rs 50 million. He warned that they would go to every extent to force the government for accepting of their demands. He announced that they would stage a 'sit-in' outside Islamabad Press Club, if the government not announce compensation package till March25.
Deen Pawak, Mohammad Shafiq, Shaukat Ali and others said the business community of North Waziristan Agency had immensely suffered billion of rupees losses due to sudden launch of the military operation in the tribal region. They urged the government, Prime Minister, President, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Corps Commander Peshawar to announce a hefty compensation package for the affected traders of the militancy-hit NWA, like announced for terrorism-affected people of Malakand division.
