Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that the next six months will decide the future of Pakistan. He expressed these views while addressing the PTI women workers convention which was organised by PTI leader Munaza Hassan here on Saturday.
He further said that they want to make a new Pakistan according to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. He elaborated that they want to see Pakistan as a democratic state based on justice and equality. "We have launched a movement against injustice and corruption and we will succeed in making a new Pakistan. No one should be above the law, which is the golden principle of Islam," he added.
According to him, Quaid-e-Azam struggled for 40 years to earn an independent state for Muslims. Today, the Indian Muslims are facing all sorts of atrocities and thus we as a nation should be thankful to the Quaid and pray for his soul for getting us an independent country.
"Unfortunately, Pakistan is ruled by a corrupt mafia. Despite the fact that it has been gifted with all kinds of resources, the corrupt leaders have ruined it. If leaders are preoccupied with looting and plundering, the people will remain poor," he added.
Imran observed that if Pakistan wants to progress then it needs to strengthen its national institutions and invest on human development. "Strengthening of the institutions will improve governance, overcome corruption and enhance tax collection. Hence, we will have enough money to spend it on the people," he added.
He lambasted Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari for weakening the national institutions and looting the country, and added that "both ruled the country for 40 years, but they did not make the progress which the PTI made in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)."
He observed that the PML-N spent money on infrastructure but not on the people, hence they are in a miserable state. "Shehbaz Sharif spent Rs 60 billion on the metro bus in Multan while a Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Peshawar was built at a cost of just Rs 4 billion. The N-League government launched big infrastructural projects to mint money and gain free self-publicity through government advertisements," he added. He stated that the PTI's development model is simple which has been implemented in KP: invest in education, environment, health and law enforcement agencies.
He also disclosed the PTI's policy on women rights, educating their maximum number, ensuring their inheritance rights in accordance with the Islamic law and providing them with full protection under the law.
On the Senate Chairman election, he said had the PML-N won the election they would have enacted a law to give a freehand to the Sharif to commit corruption. He commended the efforts of PTI women workers who joined the party 22 years ago and stayed loyal. On the occasion, he urged all the party workers to actively participate in the PTI membership campaign and the PTI movement to make a new Pakistan. Later, he also attended the PTI social media summit.
On the occasion, he urged the people to stand up against injustice. He observed that people preferring to remain neutral are implicitly supporting injustice in the society. He credited the PTI social media team for taking the party to new heights and added that this segment of media has changed the world. He also said that the 2018 general elections will decide the faith of Pakistani youth.
