President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Ghazanfar Bilour, has said, timely completion of Thar Coal Projects will help save foreign exchange. He said huge chunk of foreign exchange is being splurged on the import of fuel that has also resulted gradual hikes in fuel prices.
Hailing statement of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Revenue Haroon Akhtar Khan that government would extend full support for the timely completion of the Thar Coal Project, Bilour said, this would certainly help reduce the existing shortfall of required energy.
"Businesses have been shut down due to high tariff of gas and electricity and completion of the coal projects will certainly provide relief to our entrepreneurs to boost production," he said, lamenting that no effort was made in the past towards coal power projects to overcome shortage of required energy therefore, incumbent government's interests in early completion of Thar Coal project is most commendable.
