An event of spring tree plantation campaign was held at University of Sindh Campus Thatta in collaboration with Sindh Forest Department Government of Sindh. Focal person, SU Thatta campus Professor Dr Sarfaraz Hussain Solangi inaugurated the spring plantation Campaign. During the event Dr Solangi said that plants are produced and play a vital role in producing oxygen and food as well as maintain environment. It is moral duty to all of us that we must be put clean our land line with green trees that create a peaceful, ornamentally pleasing environment
Imtiaz Hussain Solangi, DFO Thatta donated about 250 various plant types to the University of Sindh Thatta. He briefed that plants give us aesthetic beauty and clean environment. Therefore he urged that more number of plants should be planted in the University of Sindh Campus in future.
Professor Dr Mukhtiar Ahmed Mahar, Director Centre for Coastal and Deltaic Studies admired such step of Sindh Forest Department and encouraged the students of the campus to come forward to perform such type of activities at their respective homes, streets, playgrounds and backyard portions. He further said that Sindh Forest Department district Thatta gave special concentration on mangrove plantations at the empty mudflats of coastal belts of Sindh to maintain the sustainable ecosystem to control sea intrusion and erosion.
Syeda Fiza Shah while planting a rose plant said that roses lent tranquility of peace' and they are 'an evocative symbol of life, the earth, civilization and the beauty of creation'* we should plant such beautiful flowers for making our environment beautiful.
A large number of students, staff of Sindh Forest Department, government officers, civil society members NGO sector participated in the campaign and contributed in plantation mechanism.
