All Pakistan CNG Association has said that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has revolutionized the energy sector which will bring an end to the scarcity of electricity and gas ushering a new era of national and industrial development. In a statement central leader APCNGA Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha said the improved supply of dependable energy will accelerate industrialization, production, increased exports and new job opportunities.
The energy sector, especially the sub-sector of gas has witnessed unprecedented attention of the PM Abbasi which was not witnessed in the last fifty years. The prime minister is paying special attention to cull energy crisis despite political problems for which the business community is highly grateful to him. He said the import of LNG has reached 1000 mmcfd mark. As the second LNG terminal becomes operational after a short pause due to technical glitch, the import of gas will be almost half of the local production, Pracha added.
The import of gas will reach equal to the local production within two years which will give a new life to the industrial sector, the CNG business community leader hoped. He said that additional gas has helped start LNG-based power plants in Punjab, and improved supply to the fertilizer, textile and CNG sectors while load-shedding has been reduced.
The local gas production is 2600 mmcfd which will be matched soon by improved imports which are imperative for the national development. Pakistan offers great investment opportunities to local and foreign investors in shape of new LNG terminals, pipelines, and imports, he asserted.
