Under fire Sarfraz told to control temperament

Pakistan cricket captain Sarfraz Ahmed came under fire after his side lost the Test series 2-1 loss against New Zealand on Friday.

Former captain turned commentator Ramiz Raja stated that Sarfraz needs to control his temperament, and needs to learn from Kiwis captain Kane Williamson.  “Williamson leadership is simple; he gives a short brief to his side, he brought two debutant spinners in UAE, which were both able to outclass Pakistan in its home conditions.”

“Sarfraz needs to learn from Williamson captaincy, he especially needs to work on his temperament, because whenever, Sarfraz yells at his players they get nervous, which becomes counter effective in tough situation,” said Raja, while talking at Ramiz Speaks.

Expressing disappointment over the test defeat, the former captain opined that the senior players in the team need to take responsibility, as they need to step up in pressure situations. Raja also criticized the tail end for their continuous batting flops, calling it among the worst in the world.

“There is no justification for this defeat, as Pakistan performed below par in all departments,” he added.

New Zealand dismissed Pakistan for 156 in their second innings to seal a 123-run victory and a 2-1 series triumph on day five of the third and final test in Abu Dhabi.

Set 280 for victory on the final day, Pakistan suffered two separate batting collapses as New Zealand’s bowlers secured a memorable victory at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
