Police claimed that they have foiled an attempt of sexually assault of an eight-year old girl at a graveyard in Regi area of Peshawar and arrested a suspect on Saturday. The Station House Officer (SHO) Regi police station informed that a local person lodged a complaint with police that his eight-year-old daughter went missing near graveyard.
He said the complainant informed that he was riding on bike while his daughter and nephew were following him by walk, but after some time his nephew alone reached home. SHO further informed that soon after lodging complaint, a team was immediately sent to the stated area, where after about 25 minutes of search, the police recovered the girl safe from a nearby graveyard where she was taken by a person allegedly for sexual abuse. He said a case was registered against the arrested person and further investigation started in the case. Police told that the arrested accused would be produced before a court.
