LHC issues notice to Election Commission of Pakistan

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday issued notice to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in a petition seeking disqualification of PML-N MPA Tariq Mehmood. Mubeen Hayat, son of Punjab's former interim Chief Minister Mian Afzal Hayat through his counsel submitted in his petition that MPA Tariq Mehmood did not provide details about assets in nomination papers.
Mian Tariq Mehmood was elected as MPA on PML-N ticket from PP-113 in 2013 general elections. He was bound to disclose his assets under the law but he did not do so, he added. He said Tariq Mehmood had also been employee somewhere out of country but he also did not disclose details about it.
