PSL 4: England’s Bell eager to play in Pakistan

English batsman Ian Bell has stated that he is eager to travel to Pakistan for the upcoming fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), after getting picked by the two-time PSL champions Islamabad United in the draft.

“Yes, I would. 110 percent. I will go to Pakistan to play PSL matches there,” when asked if he would travel to Pakistan for the league, quoted Sky Sports. Bell who last represented England some three and half years back in 2015.

Talking about why he opted for PSL, the batsman with over 13,000 runs in international cricket, said that the PSL is among the ‘top competitions’ boosting some the best players, so he has taken it as a ‘challenge’ to prove himself.

“Obviously the Pakistan Super League is one of those top competitions and you have some of the best Twenty20 players in the world playing in it. In addition, you have some of the most talented players in the world from Pakistan and we all saw what they can do at the Champions Trophy,” said Bell.

“So, I think the PSL is a great opportunity for me to go out there and test myself against some really good players. I've got good experience of winning the Big Bash League with Perth Scorchers and it would be nice to go to the PSL and do the same with Islamabad United,” he added.

Before playing for Islamabad, Bell would be seen in action for Dhaka Dynamites for next edition’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), which is scheduled to get underway on Saturday, January 5 next year.
