The protesting Islamists, from the hardline Tehreek Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah Party, on Sunday announced two days mourning ie Monday and Tuesday for those killed during Saturday operation by the police. Speaking at a press conference at the protest venue, TLYRA head Allama Khadim Hussain appealed traders' community all over the country to shut their businesses for two days in solidarity with those killed in wake of police operation in different cities of the country. He accused the government of conspiring against the military, saying the government is trying to tactfully involve the military to use force against the protesters in order to cash in on the situation.
"The government wants the military to jump into all this sensitive matter so that it can use force against its own people but we will foil this conspiracy as the military's stance on Khatam-e-Nabuwat is crystal clear," he added. The cleric said that all the MNAs who voted on the bill have violated their oath and demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to revoke their membership as member parliament. He said law minister be sacked for omitting a reference to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in a new version of the electoral oath as he has committed a blasphemy.
According to the cleric, the amendment was done in order to pave the way for Nawaz Sharif to reelect himself as PML-N president. By doing all this, he contended that Nawaz Sharif has not only violated the constitution but also committed blasphemy, adding an FIR of committing blasphemy be registered against Nawaz Sharif and he should be given an exemplary punishment.
