The Lahore High Court on Friday directed a petitioner Naveed Anwar to approach the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for his grievance against 'Black Friday' observed by shopping malls with special discount offers to attract consumers, especially for Christmas shopping. The petitioner pleaded that the event of 'Black Friday' had no place in Islam or culture of Pakistan rather it was a tradition of western countries. He contended that celebration of 'Black Friday' was a result of growing influence of western culture in Pakistan. The court disposed of the petition with direction to approach the ministry first for his grievance.
