The "Sastay Bazars" in the city would be kept closed till further orders due to security reasons and solid policy would be made after carrying out necessary administrative and security arrangements in this regard. This decision was made during the joint meeting of Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani, CPO Afzaal Ahmad Kousar and Mayor Municipal Corporation Muhammad Razzaq Malik which was held at DC Complex.
It was decided that the matter of holding of Sastay Bazars could be reviewed after making the solid security plan. The participants of the meeting expressed their resolve for ensuring implementation of stringent security plan for the protection of lives and properties of the citizens and co-ordinated strategy would be followed in this regard.
Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani informed that standing instructions were being followed for the security of sensitive installations and public places. He said that the foolproof security of the important educational institutions had been ensured and regular inspections of the concerned institutions were being carried out.
CPO Afzaal Ahmad Kousar informed about the police department strategy for the detection of criminals through scientific methodology. He also apprised the meeting of the measures to check the suspects, setting up pickets on important roads and enhancing the security of the sensitive places. Mayor Municipal Corporation Muhammad Razzaq Malik expressed his satisfaction over the security arrangements and said that all out support would be provided to the security agencies for maintaining law & order situation intact.
