Leaders of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif presented himself before the Supreme Court (SC) for accountability and he is ready to accept any decision in Panamagate case. Addressing a press conference here, Prime Minister's Spokesman Dr Musadik Malik and Member National Assembly (MNA) Daniyal Aziz said that Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has totally failed to deliver in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Malik said that Imran is levelling baseless allegations against other politicians without producing any sufficient proof. He said that Khan is running away from corruption and fraud cases filed against him on various accounts in different courts by founding members of the PTI.
He claimed that Khan had promised before the nation that he will remove corruption from the country within 90 days after coming into power but his party has abolished the Ehtesab Commission from KP province.
Speaking on the occasion, Aziz said that chairman PTI introduced abusive language in the politics of the country by violating the Political Parties Act. He said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) summoned Imran Khan several times for a reply in Akbar S Babar case, but he didn't appear before the ECP, adding he is using delaying tactics for wasting precious time of the court.
Aziz said the chairman PTI should present himself for accountability before the court. He said that there are many contradictions between words and deeds of Imran Khan. Aziz said that the PTI has failed to bring any change in KP where it has been in power for over past four years. Contrary to party's tall claims to make "Naya Pakistan", he said the PTI has brought no visible progress in its province.
He said after wasting three years in agitation and politics of allegation, now the PTI has started following development vision of the PML-N government, by undertaking metro project in Peshawar, constructing motorways in KP and construction of bridges in provincial capital.
The PML-N leaders said that in general election 2018, the people of Pakistan will decide about the most popular leader and popular political party in the country. Aziz said the PTI is only playing negative politics as it introduced the politics of sit-ins and used derogatory language against its opponents. He said the PTI also attacked state institutions including the Parliament and Pakistan Television building. The PML-N government and its leadership would accept whatever the Supreme Court delivers a verdict in Panamagate case, he claimed.
