'Punjab government and TIKA to establish technical institutes in remote areas'
"Punjab government will establish state of the art technical institutes in remote areas with the technical assistance of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). Newly established Government Institute of Emerging Technologies Township with the collaboration of Turkish Organization will provide latest training facilities to youth. Widespread of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system in the province is the top priority of Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif. Efforts of TEVTA to train youth are highly appreciable."
It was stated by Provincial Minister for Industries, Sheikh Ala-uddin on the occasion of visit of Government Institute of Emerging Technologies Township. Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, Chairman P&D Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan, Secretary Industries Dr Mujtaba Piracha, Chief Operating Officer TEVTA Jawad Ahmed Qureshi, Chief Operating Officer Punjab Vocational Training Council Sajid Naseer, Chief Executive Officer Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) and other top management of TEVTA was present on this occasion.
Provincial Minister for Industries Sheikh Ala-uddin said that after obtaining approval from the CM, delegation of Punjab government will soon visit Turkey to discuss plan to establish new technical institutes.
Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh while giving briefing said that foreign collaboration is supporting TEVTA to strength TVET system across the province because future of our country is entirely connected with it. The World Bank, Asian Development Bank, JICA, GIZ, Turk Organizations and various British Companies are cooperating to promote technical education and vocational training (TVET) system. All these efforts are being made to provide international level training opportunities to the youth.
