Khattak asks departments to finalise projects for 'Beijing Road' show

Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak called upon the working groups of different provincial government departments to finalise their projects to be marketed in the upcoming Beijing Road show.
He was presiding over a meeting of different working groups of the provincial government departments here at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar. All quarters concerned attended.
He directed to be on target and all departments should show their preparedness. Each department would be represented by 2 representatives in each meeting. The Chief Minister directed to finalise all pre-requisites for greater Peshawar circular Railway project by end of May.
The meeting was told about the 15 projects in Mines & Mineral and Industrial sectors, 17 projects of special Economic Zones in the province to be marketed in the Beijing Road Show.
The Chief Minister also directed to acquire land and fulfil other requirements for Rashakai Industrial Estate. He also asked for land acquisition and other updates for D I Khan Industrial Estate. The meeting was told about 4 IT related projects those included Technology City Rashakai, CPEC Tower Peshawar, IT Tower Abbottabad and circular railway project linking 7 districts of the province with a cost of almost $2 billion. In Housing sector there were 6 projects out of which 2 housing schemes namely Peshawar Model Town and Motorway CPEC City had been negotiated with FWO. The meeting was further updated on the Northern section of the Ring Road linking Warsak Road with Jamrud Road that will cost Rs 12 billion. All these projects prepared by different departments would cost Rs 64 billion.
The Chief Minister also directed for finalising different Addas to the main terminal and the existing Adda should be developed on commercial lines. Both projects should be handed over to one company with the timelines for shifting and relocation of these Addas into main terminal.
The meeting was told about the 10 projects of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highway Authority to be marketed in the upcoming Beijing Road Show in April. There are 7 projects in Agriculture and livestock, 10 projects in hydel power generation that have been finalised for Chinese investment. The provincial government was about to sign an agreement with reputed firm for the production of 2000 Mega Watt of electricity. The meeting was told about the 16 projects in the culture and 10 projects in education sector.
