Chairman Businessmen Group & Former President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Siraj Kassam Teli has said that it is really upsetting to note that the businessmen and industrialists were not allowed to provide the real picture on the ground to Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif which the PM must have noticed how these matters are handled.
In a letter sent to PM, he expressed gratitude for recently meeting with the business and industrial community of Karachi at Governor House for nearly two hours and discussing issues pertaining to Karachi's law & order and hurdles in business environment. Siraj Teli, while referring to the discussions on gas load shedding during the said meeting, informed the PM about gas load shedding by Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on every Sunday for the industries which was refuted by Dr Miftah Ismail, Chairman Board of SSGC, Chairman Board of Investment and State Minister which left a doubt on Siraj Teli's integrity hence, the PM was requested to verify this issue independently.
In this regard, copies of newspaper cuttings published on every Saturday for closures of gas on Sundays by SSGC were also attached with the letter for reference and the last publication was as recent as 11th March 2017. He hoped that such incidences will be curbed in future for the betterment of business and industrial community.
