Quetta Gladiators skipper Sarfraz Ahmed Thursday said that holding of final of Pakistan Super League in Lahore is a good omen for Pakistani cricket. Talking to media on arrival here along with nine other players to play the PSL final on Sunday, Sarfraz said he is happy to see the passion in the country for PSL. To a query, he said the foreign players departure from squad for the final will impact the performance of team but "We would try our level best to win the final."
Unfortunately our foreign players (Englishmen Pietersen, Tymal Mills and Luke Wright along with South African Rilee Rossouw) have decided against playing in the final in Lahore," he said. However, we will be doing our best to win the final even without them, he added.
Sarfraz hailed last-over hero Mohammad Nawaz and man-of-the-match Ahmad Shahzad for their superb performances that once again saw Quetta become the first team to reach to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final. Coaching staff of Quetta Gladiators reached home alongwith players namely Sarfraz Ahmed, Asad Shafiq, Noor Wali, Anwar Ali, Mir Hamza, Ahmed Shahzad, Zulfikar Babar, Saad Nasim, Muhammad Nawaz and Assistant Coach Abdul Razzaq. Quetta Gladiators will start its training at Qaddafi stadium on Friday.
While the country's economy was directly linked with its security situation, hosting of PSL final in Lahore will send a very strong message to the world that Pakistan is a peaceful and sports loving country. Nevertheless, this would encourage foreign investors to come in Pakistan and invest in various sectors here, analysts said.
