The Sindh government has joined hands with the private sector to ensure delivery of service to the people of the province and enhance the working capacity and performance of the government, Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said today (Wednesday). He was inaugurating a hospital in Malir district. Sindh government established the hospital in partnership with HANDS.
The chief minister said that the Sindh government had started a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) unit in the finance department to start various projects in collaboration with the private sector. "This partnership is not meant for making money or earning profits, but for best service delivery to the people of the province and enhance the working capacity and performance of the government," he said.
He said that his government was striving hard to improve health facilities by outsourcing management of primary healthcare facilities. He added that the Sindh government and HANDS have joined hands through Public-Private Partnership to run 38 health facilities, including two Sindh government hospitals, with 100-bed and 50-bed respectively, two rural centers and 14 dispensaries.
