Terming holding of final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Lahore as a big move, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Shaharyar M. Khan said Tuesday that foolproof security would be provided to teams and cricket fans in Lahore. "There is a security risk but we would not bow down and final of PSL will be staged in Lahore,"
PCB chairman said while talking to media during visit to the Gaddafi stadium, to review arrangements being made for the PSL final. He said that all necessary measures would be taken to provide foolproof security for final match of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Khan said, "If the PSL final is held successfully, it would pave the way for revival of international cricket and foreign teams will visit Pakistan." Shaharyar Khan said cricket fans are enthusiastic and the schedule for the sale of tickets for the final will be announced soon. He further said that all the stakeholders including police, rangers, government and security forces would provide foolproof arrangements and the visitors as well as cricket fans would get complete security.
It may be noted that all the five franchises participating in the PSL agreed in principle to play the final in Lahore. The PSL management told franchise owners that at least 50 foreign players, currently not part of the PSL, have agreed to visit Pakistan for the final of PSL, if picked. PCB Chairman said, "We are all committed and wish to have a thoroughly entertaining PSL final in Lahore," all necessary measures would be taken to provide foolproof security for final match of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
On the other hand, one of franchise owners of Peshawar Zalmi (PSL) Javed Afirdi said that decision to hold final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Lahore will prove beneficial in national interest. Javed Afridi said that all the franchises' owners have been given the task to persuade maximum international players to come to Lahore Pakistan for the final of PSL second edition. "Our country is our pride and to protect its interests is our prime duty and Pakistani nation has proved that at every step. We are willing to serve the country in national spirit and our management will try its best to bring the maximum foreign players along," he reaffirmed.
