The Karachi Port handled 123,496 tonnes of cargo comprising 97,744 tonnes of import cargo and 25,752 tonnes of export cargo including 6,298 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 97,744 tonnes comprised of 24,554 tonnes of containerised cargo; 467 tonnes of general cargo; 48,412 tonnes of bulk cargo: 35,538 tonnes of coal; 3,074 tonnes of soyabean meal; 9,800 tonnes of rock phosphate and 24,311 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 25,752 tonnes comprised of 20,428 tonnes of containerised cargo and 5,324 tonnes of rice. As many as 6,298 containers comprising of 2,372 containers import and 3,926 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 1,129 of 20's and 580 of 40's loaded while 21 of 20's and 31 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 437 of 20's and 342 of 40's loaded containers while 885 of 20's and 960 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Northern Dependant, MSC Valencia, MT Karachi and Gloves Comet carrying containers, oil tanker and vehicle respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. MSC Valencia, Bon Atlantico, Clovis Comet and Heilan Brother carrying containers, oil tanker, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were three ships namely Corona, Bon Atlantico and Crystal Sambu carrying oil tanker and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while three ships namely Kota Kamil, Chastine Maersk and Grand Race carrying containers and vehicle respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
There were six vessels viz. Chastine Maersk, UAFL Zanzibar, High Beam, Olivia, Grand Race and Uni Auc One carrying containers, mogas, sunflower seeds, vehicle and iron powder respectively due to arrive on Friday while five vessels viz. Kota Lembah, MSC Alice, Prosper, Milos and Formosa Falcon carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 122,724 tonnes comprising 102,622 tonnes of import cargo and 20,102 tonnes of export cargo including 1,569 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 102,622 tonnes includes 39,330 tonnes of diesel oil; 15,800 tonnes of palm oil; 35,000 tonnes of LNG; 1,316 tonnes of LPG; 1,467 tonnes of project cargo and 9,709 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 20,102 tonnes includes 20,102 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 1,569 containers comprising of 511 containers import and 1,058 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were four ships namely CV Chastine Maersk, CV CMA CGM Nerval, MV Jumbo Jublee and MT Al-Soor-II carrying containers, project cargo and diesel oil sailed out to sea on Friday. A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Chastine Maersk, CV MSC Tokomo, CV CMA CGM Nerval, MV Jumbo Jublee, MV Marco, MT Maria-III, MT Umm Bab, MT Al-Soor-II and MT Bunga Alamanda currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, canola seeds, LPG, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eight ships namely CV San Felix, MV FPMC Fortune, MT Nordic Gas, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Pacific Energy, MT Harmony-1, MT Bunga Angsana and MT Navig-8 Aqua Marine carrying containers, project cargo, chemical, LPG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV San Felix, CV MSC Alice and MV Forest Park carrying containers and chemical expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday.
There were ten ships namely CV Chastine Maersk, CV San Felix, CV Hugo Schulte, MV Chance, MV Gaschem Antartic, MV Forest Park, MT Bneider, MT Shalamar, MT Navig-8 Aqua Marine and MT Chemroad Mega carrying containers, soyabean seeds, chemical, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively due to arrive on Friday, while another ship namely CV Safmarine Ngami carrying containers is due to arrive on Saturday. There are two ships namely CV MSC Valencia and CV Express Black Sea carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Sunday.
