Published February 18, 2017 Updated February 18, 2017 12:00am

Politicians, businessmen and civil society leaders on Thursday condemned the unprovoked firing by Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC), in which 3 soldiers were martyred. Slamming the Indian aggression, they said that Pakistan's desire for peace should not be considered its weakness. "Pakistan army is capable to defend the motherland," they added.
Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi, president of Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) flayed Indian aggression, saying that such an act amounted to serious violation of the LoC and was equivalent to attack integrity and security of Pakistan. He said that UNO and other international agencies should take notice of Indian aggression and non-cooperative.
Roomi said that Narendra Modi government had gone crazy over launch of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and bent upon halting it. Criticising the Indian aggression along the LoC, APBUMA Chairman Khawaja Muhammad Younas said that it was a serious violation of the international laws. "Indian forces violated the internationally-recognised Line of Control (LoC) and resorted to firing, killing 7 Pakistan soldiers," he added. Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said that after failure in held Kashmir, New Delhi was using unethical and illegal methods to pressure Pakistan to withdraw its moral support to Kashmiris. He criticised Indian government for the worst kind of human rights abuses in the held valley and called for an immediate cessation to Indian atrocities.
