Published February 15, 2017 Updated February 15, 2017 12:00am

President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) Muhammad Saeed Sheikh has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the Lahore carnage where senior police officers were martyred along with many civilians.
Saeed Sheikh participated in the funeral prayer (In absentia) of police officers in Faisalabad police line today which was also attended by the City Police Officer Afzal Ahmed Kausar, Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani , MNA Mian Abdul Mannan, Mian Tahir Jamil and MPA Sheikh Ejaz Ahmed.
Saeed said that the police officers, who had laid down their lives protecting others, are our national asset and nation is proud of their unprecedented sacrifices. He said that government of Pakistan is striving hard to overcome the menace of terrorism and extremism for the last many years in collaboration with armed forces, police and other law enforcing agencies. Hundreds of "Jawans" had sacrificed their lives and because of their truthfulness to their duties the situation had returned back to normal. He specially mentioned the "Zarb e Azab" and Karachi operation which helped in the restoration of normalcy in Pakistan and particularly in Karachi.
He said, "Peace prevailed throughout the country during the last 10 months but suddenly terrorists mauled the heart of Pakistan, Lahore." He further said that our enemies wanted to destabilize Pakistan with such attacks but the nation has made a firm resolve that it will have to fight a protracted war to completely flush out the terrorists. He said that the people of Pakistan are fully determined to stand behind the Pakistan army and law enforces agencies so that they could boldly face the terrorist and sabotage their nefarious designs.
