Akakhel Ittehad Pakistan (AIP) staged a largely participated car rally to express solidarity with Kashmiris in their struggle for the right of self-determination here in connections with Kashmir Solidarity Day here on Sunday.
The rally participated by hundreds of tribesmen of Akakhel tribe from Peshawar, different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab started from Landay Sadak, Charsadda Road. The participants of the rally were waving the national flag of Pakistan and chanting slogans in favour of the struggle of the liberation of Kashmir and their right of self-determination.
The rally after passing from different roads reached press club where it turned into a public meeting. The participants of the rally also put Indian flag on fire and chanted slogans against India.
Addressing the participants of the rally, chairman AIP, Haji Noor Sher said that Kashmir is the oldest unresolved international dispute and has caused three wars between Pakistan and India. He termed the resolution of Kashmir issue inevitable for the establishment of permanent peace between Pakistan and India. He also called for the implementation of the UN Security Council's resolution regarding Kashmir in letter and spirit and asked the world community for taking notice of the atrocities committed by India on the innocent Kashmiris. He said that like 1948, the Akakhel tribe will continue its support of their Kashmiri brethren on all level and will raise voice for right of self-determination on all available platforms. He said that Kashmiris should not consider themselves alone in the struggle as the members of Akakhel tribe will always be standing with them.
The participants of the rally also passed unanimous resolutions demanding immediate release of the arrested leadership of Hurriat Conference and condemning Indian barbarity against innocent Kashmiris. The rally urged the government of Pakistan for using diplomatic channels and further activation of the parliamentary committee on Kashmir to raise the issue on international forums. The resolution also demanded of the world community to play role in the withdrawal of Indian forces from held Kashmir and implementation of the UN resolutions on the issue in letter and spirit.
