Quality Research based solutions to problems of society, farmers and industry; knowledge based economy and trained manpower are essential to alleviate poverty, said University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. He addressed lecturers and assistant professors of the UAF on Saturday at New Senate Hall, UAF. Registrar Chaudhry Muhammad Hussain conducted the proceedings.
He said that community, industry and farming community demand out-of-the-box solutions to their problems for the development. He said that the researchers should think out of box and come up with innovative ideas. He urged them to come out of isolation and urged the researchers to work jointly to solve the problems of the stakeholders, industry and farming community.
He said that committed, skilled and trained teachers could guarantee bright future as no nation can make development without the quality education. He urged the teaching community to become self accountable, and perform their duties effectively by creating the teacher-student friendly environment. He said that progress of nations is being determined by the number of brilliant students pursuing higher education. Only the knowledge economies are going to be successful in future.
He said that UAF was making all-out efforts to ensure the quality education and research that's why the UAF had emerged among the top 100 university of the globe. He said that no any university in the country could match UAF. He also said that the UAF was making conscious efforts for the gender mainstreaming. He further said that the Sport Complex would be established at Pars. He said that ICT and E-library with Rs 1350 million would be set up at the campus. He said that the University was undergoing a process to put all the courses online for the benefit of the students and society as well. He added that the teaching is an art in which the perfection is required.
He said that it was their duty to equip the students with skills and moral values in order to steer the country clear of problems of great magnitude. He further said that UAF was having the talented manpower and teaching community of 700 Out of which as many as 450 are PhDs.
