Noted writer Bano Qudsia dies

Eminent Urdu and Punjabi writer Bano Qudsia passed away in a hospital on Saturday after protracted illness. She was 88. She was under treatment over the past 10 days. She was born in 1928 in Ferozpur, Indian Punjab, and migrated to Pakistan after the partition.
Best known for her novel "Raja Gidh" which is considered a classic in Urdu, Bano Qudisa has authored 25 books. She also wrote for television and stage in both the Urdu and Punjabi languages. Her play Aadhi Baat has been called "a classic", according to Wikipedia. She was wife of noted Pakistani author Ashfaq Ahmed, Pakistan's legendary writer, playwright and broadcaster.
Condolences from all the quarters are pouring in, but different media portals and journalists were quick to mourn the death of Pakistan's legendary writer on social media.
Her books and teleplays include Adhi Baat, Aik Din, Amr Bail, Assey Passey, Bazgasht, Chahar Chaman, Chota Shehr, Bary Log, Dast Basta, Dosra Darwaza, Dusra Qadam, Foot Path Ki Ghaas, Haasil Ghaat, Hawwa Key Naam, Hijraton ke Darmiyan, Kuch Aur Nahi, Lagan Apni Apni, Marde Abresham, Maum Ki Gallian, Naqabal-e-Zikr, Piya Naam Ka Diya, Purwa, Purwa and Aik Din, Raja Gidh, Saman-e-Wajood, Shehr-e-bemisaal, Shehr-e-Lazawal Abaad Weerany, Sudhraan, Suraj Mukhi, Tamaseel, Tawjha Ki Talib, Rahe Rawan and Phir Achanak Yuh Hua.
