Expressing solidarity with the people of the Occupied Kashmir, political leadership of the country through a declaration adopted on Tuesday condemned the persistent oppression by the occupation forces in the Indian-held Kashmir (IHK) and the continued detention of Hurriyat Conference leaders, including Syed Ali Gilani.
All-Parties Kashmir Conference held under the aegis of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan declared that the 200 million people of Pakistan are with the Kashmiris and would stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them until they achieve their goal of liberation.
Addressing the moot, prominent leaders from different political parties and religious organisations, called upon the United Nations to fulfil its commitment for affording the right to self-determination to the Kashmiris. They also warned: "If Indian authorities continued with oppressive and tyrannical policies in the Indian-held Kashmir, the present India would not survive for long."
The conference held under the chairmanship of the JI Emir Senator Sirajul Haq was addressed, among others, by Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, PTI's Shah Mehmud Qureshi, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Liaqat Baloch, General (retd) Muhammad Anwar, Sardar Attiq Ahmed, Sahibzada Abul Khair Zubair, Maulana Samiul Haq, Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari, Abdur Rashid Turabi, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, and Hafiz Aakif Saeed.
Sirajul Haq said that all political parties and religious organisations are on the same page on Kashmir issue. He stressed upon the government to realise its responsibility on this front and frame a solid policy for the liberation of Kashmir.
The JI chief said that the absence of the government in the conference is due to the world pressure. However, he said that the people of Pakistan would not be cowed down by the threats of Trump or Modi. He said that Kashmir Solidarity Day would be observed across the world on February 5. He said the Kashmiris are burying their martyrs in the Pakistani flag to show their love for this country.
Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said that India has not recognised Pakistan from the very first day. He said that there could not be peace in the region till the Kashmir issue is resolved.
The conference called upon New Delhi to see the writing on the wall in the form of the latest recommendations of the Yashwant Sinha committee report, besides the statement of prominent Indian writers, intellectuals and human rights activists, and stop human rights violations in India-held Kashmir, abandon its "integral part" slogan and resume serious dialogue with Pakistan and the Kashmiri leadership.
The moot also stressed upon the Pakistan government to prepare a solid policy for the liberation of Kashmir, especially in the light of the situation in Occupied Kashmir since the martyrdom of Burhan Wani. It demanded the Prime Minister to address the Azad Kashmir Assembly and reaffirm Pakistan's support to Kashmiris.
The conference lauded the support from international organisations, especially the resolution of the British Parliament, in this direction. It also urged the national media to highlight the issue as a national duty.
