Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar has said that disbursement of salary to all those employees of KMC will be stopped if they did not submit their service record that is personal file and service book to the HRM Department by February 15.
Chairing a briefing on the Human Resources Management Department in his office on Monday, he directed HRM officers to make cadre for officers and other employees of KMC and prepare the seniority list and give priority to merit only, said a statement.
The Mayor on this occasion noted that matters pertaining to appointments, transfer and postings and promotion of employees were interfered on the basis of political and personal association which deprived large number of employees their right.
He also directed to carry out physical attendance of the employees at their place of posting and take action against those who did not attend their duty on time.
The Mayor also issued instruction for deduction of conveyance allowance from the salary of such officers who were using government vehicle since the time it was allotted to them.
He also directed HRM department to make the appointments only which existed in the budget and gradually expunge those posts which were not included in the establishment budget.
The meeting was attended by the municipal commissioner Dr Badar Jameel, Financial Advisor Khalid Mehmood Shaikh, Sr Director HRM Jamil Farooqui, Sr Director I.T Rashid Nizam, Director Computer Muhammad Ashraf, Director Payroll Asghar Durrani and other officers.
