The Met Office on Saturday forecast mainly cold, dry and partly cloudy weather for the most parts of the country in the next 24 hours. However, it said, rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places in Malakand and Hazara Divisions, besides Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Dense fog is likely to grip the plains area of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Upper Sindh during the night and morning hours. "A shallow westerly trough is affecting northern parts of the country," the Met said. In the next 48 hours: Mainly cold, dry and partially cloudy weather is likely in the most parts of the country. However rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over the hills) is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Quetta and Zhob Divisions, besides FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Dense fog is likely to prevail over the plain area of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Upper Sindh during the night and morning hours. Temperature in Skardu dropped to minus 12 degrees Celsius, Parachinar minus six, Astore and Kalat minus four, Murree minus three, Chitral, Dir, Kalam, Quetta, Gupis and Bagrote minus two, each, in the last 24 hours.
