Customs Central Region collects Rs 2782 million ST in 15 days of January

Customs Central Region has collected Rs 2782 million under the head of sales tax during the first fifteen days of January 2016-17, said sources. They said the Customs Appraisement Lahore has collected Rs 1149 million during the first 15 days of the period under review. Similarly, Customs Preventive Lahore collected Rs 717 million under the head of sales tax during the period.
Meanwhile, the Collectorate of Multan collected Rs 658 million as sales tax during the month of January of current financial year 2016-17.
The Collectorate of Customs Faisalabad collected Rs 256 million as sales tax during the first fifteen days of financial year 2016-17.
Overall the Central Region collected total sales tax from all the four Collectorate worth Rs 2782 million during the first fifteen day of the month of January. It may be noted that the Central Region was assigned Rs 8674 million sales tax revenue collection target for the month of January 2017.
