Chief Executive Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), Syed Wajid Ali Kazmi said the Company would soon issue single phase connection under the Rooftop Solar Net Metering Electricity system to promote alternative sources of electricity in the city. "Already, the Company is issuing three phase connection to the consumers under this system," he added.
He was addressing a training session organised at a local hotel by the Renewable and Alternative Energy Association of Pakistan on Saturday. Chief Executive LESCO said the solar system was generating a secure electricity system world over and Pakistan is among one of the countries where alternative resources are being used to generate power. The consumers can not only fulfil personal need of electricity but also contribute to the reduction on power crisis in the country. He invited the participants of the meeting to share their ideas on the net metering electricity system.
He also appreciated the LESCO engineers in overcoming power crisis in the country. He further pointed out that the solar system generating pollution free electricity and also it is within the range of majority of the consumers. He said this system recovers its const within four to five years and the average age of it is 25 years. He has urged the consumers to utilize this system to the maximum level.
