Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch has appealed to Supreme Court for setting up a judicial commission for inquiry against all those who are mentioned in the Panama leaks and also to give a road map for their trial. According to media cell Lahore, he was addressing a press conference at Multan during his tour on Thursday, he called for an across the board accountability of all the corrupt, both in the government and opposition.
The JI Secretary General said that the tug of war between political parties can be harmful for the country's solidarity, the freedom movement in Kashmir and for the democratic system. Liaqat Baloch appreciated the smooth change of the army chief and said that General Raheel Sharif (Rtd) had raised the image of country and the armed forces by not seeking or accepting extension and had thus cleared the negative effects left by Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan, Ziaul Haq and Parvez Musharraf.
He said the new CoAS would have to face numerous challenges. He said that India at present facing serious crises. Indian army is helpless in front of Kashmiris as the martyrdom of Burhan Wani had given infused new life to the freedom struggle. Referring to the CPEC, he said that the project was highly important for the region. However, it was the responsibility of federal government to ensure equitable distribution of the country's resources.
He said the delay in holding census is a big failure on the part of the government. Besides, he said, the government had also failed to decide fresh National Finance Award. He called for building Motorway between Multan and D.G. Khan and for completion of Ghazi Bridge at Mithan Kot. The JI Secretary General called on the Punjab Governor Muhammad Rafiq Rajwana to express his condolences over the demise of the Governor's nephew. He was accompanied by JI deputy chief Mian Muhammad Aslam and JI district chief Asif Akhwani.
