Husbands' deportation to Afghanistan: Pakistani women stage protest in Peshawar
A group of Pakistani women, who have married Afghan men, staged a protest on Tuesday claiming that their husbands have been deported to Afghanistan. The veiled women of different localities of Peshawar along with their children staged a protest demonstration at Sher Shah Suri Road outside the Peshawar Press Club. The helpless women were carrying placards inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands.
The women said that they had been left alone to fed their children. The protesting women demanded of the government to save their future and give Pakistani nationality to their husbands. "We are reluctant to go to Afghanistan and we have also received threats from Afghans living in Afghanistan. Our husbands have been deported through Torkham boarder," said one of the women while talking to reporters.
